Hello all,

As 2016 ends and the new year approaches, Pantone announces it’s new “Color of the Year”.  Drum-roll please, the new color is “Greenery”.  This to me, doesn’t specify one specific type of green.  As we know greenery in floral speak encompasses light green to the deepest darkest green color.  This means more fun for design! Here are color palette inspirations and designs to inspire for the upcoming year!

Hello all,

It is that time of the year when Pantone announces it’s “Color of the Year”.  Drumroll……. Rose Quartz and Serenity (otherwise known as baby blue).  There you have it.  2016’s colors of the year are very light and soft pastel colors.  One can say Pantone took to the skies and favored the beautiful hue of the sunset.  I think this is a beautiful combination that can be very elegant and classy.  Let’s make 2016 amazing with this color combination! Hello all,

Lace is very popular for 2016!  White lace is a given.  What about white with a black lace overlay? We love it! Black lace works can be added to many wedding details from the invitations to the wedding cake.  We wouldn’t suggest using the black lace for every detail as shown our inspiration board below, but certainly touches of it here and there makes for a stunning overall look.   (more…)

Hello all,

We had the extreme pleasure of working with some amazing vendors to come up with a New Year’s Eve Masquerade themed photoshoot.  Immediately, I knew the location had to be a historic venue reminiscent of New Orleans’s French Quarters.  Newton White Mansion located in Mitchellville, MD fit the bill.  This location has grandeur mixed with elegance.  The colors selected were gold, black, white, and Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year – Marsala.  We wanted to give inspiration for the newly deemed color for 2015.  Munaluchi Bridal featured our photoshoot on New Year’s Eve.   Judah Avenue captured the detail beautifully.    We hope you agree. Hello all,

Even though this photo shoot took place earlier this year, I had to post it.  The Inspired Bride featured it on their blog yesterday!  Yayy!!! You can catch the feature here.  We wanted to give you the skinny on it from a design perspective.  Amanda McMahon Photography, Fantastic Floral Events and I all put our heads together to create a Bohemain Chic photo shoot.  “What is that?”, one might ask.  Bohemian style is very ecclectic and earthy.  It is full of jewel tone colors, gems, and flowers plus lots of wood and earthy elements.  We couldn’t think of a better place than Annmarie Gardens to hold the photoshoot.  We took a field trip to the venue and walked around until we found the perfect setting.  We found 2 trees to provide the support for our suspended floral branch.  The magic began!  Enjoy!! Hello all… When selecting colors for their wedding, many brides try to “match” certain colors together.  One easy color scheme that has a major impact is called the “Monochromatic” color scheme.  What does that mean?  Having a monochromatic color scheme would be the use of various tints, shades, and hues of one single color.

Monocolour

This picture depicts the various shades of one color red.  Creating a wedding color scheme of this sort creates drama and can give the room a wow factor.  Lighting plays an important role in this type of design.  Up-lighting around the room has a large impact.  Please view examples of different Monochromatic designs below.
